True poetry doesn't rhyme

True poetry doesn't rhyme
Because it wasn't intended
To impress your thinking mind,
But to reach out to your soul.

True poetry doesn't rhyme
Because emotions cannot be forced
Into a certain form or shape
Because feelings are untamed.

True poetry doesn't rhyme
Because there are so few words
That could come close in capturing
How you make the world wonderful.

True poetry doesn't rhyme
Because you freed my heart
From the sorrows of life
When you asked me to be yours.

True poetry doesn't rhyme
Because spoken words change
With time, but the memories
Of you and I will never age.

True poetry doesn't rhyme
Because it comes from heart,
Which writes with rhythm
Because it comes from love.
